Job Description:
Transform children into their favorite princess by styling their hair with a variety of techniques
Posses knowledge and hair care tools to execute braiding, teasing, shaping, twists, hair tinsel, and hair chalking.
Apply light face makeup (eyeshadow, mascara, tinted lip gloss, face glitter, and blush) and painting nails.
Requirements we look for:
Posses current and up to date West Virginia Cosmetic license
Excellent with children (especially preschoolers) and working with large and small crowds.
Reliable access to transportation with valid driver's licenses– considerable driving is required as performers often provide their own transportation.
Willingness to drive to booked events within a 100 miles radius of Weston, WV.
Consistent weekend availability Friday Nights, Saturdays, Sundays afternoons.
No highly visible tattoos that cannot be covered with makeup or highly visible unremovable body piercings.
Punctuality
Willingness to have a background check
Willingness to wear Fairy Godmother dress as uniform (provided)
Posses all beauty supplies for makeovers such as: hair styling tools, spray, tinsel, chalk, makeup, and nailpolish, disposable applicators, and makeup remover.

Q: How much does a Fairy Godmother earn at events?
A: A Fairy Godmother will earn $100 for the first hour of their event and $25 for each additional event hour, plus travel time to and from their event, gas compensation (from Weston) and any tips you may receive.
Q: How often are Fairy Godmothers paid?
A: We pay via Direct Deposit or mailed check every 2 weeks.
Q: What is Fairy Godmother training like?
A: As an independent contractor, training is not provided. We are happy to provide supplemental documents to inspire your makeovers, but it is up to the contractor to already posses the skills. Paid practice opportunities may be provided to gain confidence and ensure you’re event ready!
Q: I do not have experience with tinsel or chalking. Can I still apply?
A: Yes! Your menu of offerings would reflect the things you can do. But we would recommend learning how to do these popular hair trends as it may increase your bookings and/or tips.
Q: Do Fairy Godmothers go to events alone?
A: Yes. Each Fairy Godmother gives their princess makeovers before the character performer arrives. Only if multiple Fairy Godmothers are booked for an event with over 10 children, they may work side by side together.
Q: How many children are included in a 1 hour package
A: 10 children are included. If there are more, a second hour must be added to the Fairy Godmother booking.
Q: What does Little Glass Slipper provide the Fairy Godmother for events?
A: A costume/uniform. The contractor is in charge of all their own makeover supplies.
Q: What does the Fairy Godmother costume look like?
A: While this is a new position, the exact design has yet to be chosen. The best way to describe our vision would be a Renaissance Maiden. Think puffy sleeves, lace up vest, and long dress. You are welcome to add accessories to fit your Fairy Godmother persona.
Q: What sizes is the Fairy Godmother costume?
A: Any! Your costume is ordered upon the size you select after a confirmed job offer.
Q: I work a full time job during the week. Can I still apply?
A: Absolutely! About 80% of our bookings are on the weekends, with the most popular time frame being Saturday afternoon. And depending on the popularity of this service, you may only be needed for 1-5 events per month (or 1 every few months depending on the service).
Q: Can Fairy Godmothers have tattoos?
A: Yes! We do request tattoos are fully covered to help maintain character integrity and the fairytale story. This can be done with a layered neutral thermal top or makeup.
Q: Do you have an event space in Weston?
A: While we do not currently offer a space to host events, we do travel to client’s addresses within 100 miles of Weston, WV.
Q: How far do Fairy Godmothers travel for events?
A: We accept bookings up to 100 miles from Weston. Travel time is paid $10 per hour on top of your event rate, and gas is compensated for locations over 30 miles from Weston.
